A Four Directions Prayer

I found this beautiful Lakota prayer on Nick Polizzi’s The Sacred Science site.  It does require some background information to set the context first. Rather than summarise, I’ll let the article speak for itself: “In many native cultures across the North American continent, there is a unifying spiritual element that has been used for millennia … Read more A Four Directions Prayer

Thinking about chakras from a different perspective

Did you know that chakras affect our wellbeing on many different levels? They connect to organs in our physical body as well as to our emotional and spiritual bodies. And beyond – for we are all energetically connected via the Divine Matrix to each other to the Earth and beyond. If chakras are out of balance, … Read more Thinking about chakras from a different perspective

A better future for our world – the way forward

earth-405096__180

Like me, I’m sure you are all concerned about our future. We want to find a way forward to a better future. Things seem pretty dismal at the moment. But I don’t want to dwell here on the various debates that are raging. There are good, bad and ugly things going on in our world.  I want to focus on a positive angle. A way forward to a better future, a better world. In order to get there,  we need to understand what drives us. What fuels human beings?  What are the spheres of influence that make up that inner core? What makes it function efficiently and effectively? Is the power supply reliable? Is it renewable? Is there an effective backup supply? Where and with whom does the responsibility lie to make it a better future ?

These are big questions. They have multi-layered complexities. What is needed is a massive change in all spheres of life. It seems overwhelming, doesn’t it? Especially so when we look at what is happening on a global level – wars, famine, pollution, chaos, terrorism. However, we’re not going to dwell on that! Instead let’s focus our energies on finding a way forward to a better future.

If we let the overwhelm consume us, we become powerless. We remain victims. Nothing changes for the better. What is needed is a meta-level change management framework, an action plan that drills all the way down to the individual. The responsibility rests with each one of us. Each one of us committing to a way forward for a better future. Doing whatever we can – however seemingly small. In the famous words of Lao Tzu ‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.’

There are many people, groups  and organisations around the world who are committed to making the world we live in a better place. To bring about that change for a better future. Here I just want to focus on one of them –

The Humanity’s Team

This organisation was born from the vision of Barbara Marx Hubbard. The framework on which the change management is founded. It has identified Twelve Spheres of Life. These spheres underpin the whole action plan for a better future. The following are very brief excerpts from each sphere with links that will take you to the full text  –

The arts – permeate every aspect of the wheel and reflect the artists’ gifts and desires to enquire about and observe all aspects of life. The arts therefore are meme-makers and meme reflectors. They are mirrors through which we can see ourselves in new ways. From this perspective, every human being is creative. Art is integral to all human endeavours.

Economics – foster values such as integration rather thanbetter disintegration. Cooperation rather than competition and strife.  And in keeping one-another safe rather than destroying one another.

Education – knowledge about the outer world through the five senses is infused with Self Knowledge and Love. It is gained by continuous practice.  A practice that connects to Divine Essence and inner wisdom throughout  life’s journey enabling growth in the Real understanding of Life

Environment – we ARE the environment. We are Life – all of which is Sacred. Love is the Golden Thread that runs through all of this and connects everything.  The Universe is One Being and we are its cells – all essential and responsible for the Whole. We respond to our natural environment with Love.

Governance – individual people can change it using the power of Spiritual Citizenship. We are Government through our own Self-Governance. Human beings need each other to survive on this planet. We are all in this together. Community flourishes as we learn about each other and revel in the wonder and beauty of our diversities. We play a Conscious part in helping to bring about a culture in which we, the peoples of the world, can address our common global concerns. An holistic, positive and transforming way of living together in peace with one another. Oneness Governance reflects Unity Consciousness.

Health – human beings possess emotional, spiritual, and relational dimensions. They are essential in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and the cultivation of wellness.

Infrastructure – to design, create and build systems and structures that serve the long-term health and well being of humanity, all of life, and all of consciousness. At the same time  keeping in mind the important major dynamics that come into play when doing so. It includes the psychological and experiential aspects, behavioural and bodily aspects, cultural and communications aspects, and systemic and structural aspects.

Justice – our mutual responsibility toward one-another and our natural environment. We are encouraged to support Spiritual Principles, global ethics, and universal values such as respect, justice, peace, dignity, freedom, responsibility and cooperation They  form the basis of Oneness Consciousness. Oneness politics, human rights, governance, law and justice is based on Love.

Media – communication and connections with the billions of others as we enter the space of the Global Brain will reflect our Conscious communication and connection with our Self. It ensures that we co-create the sustainable world of peace and prosperity for all that we have all been dreaming of instead of re-creating that which we do not want.

Relations – healthy relations are dependent on the relationship with Self and the acceptance also of those parts of our self and others that we regard as ‘not good.’ Wholeness and togetherness can only be experienced through the recognition of the uniqueness, beauty and purpose of all aspects of life. This recognition starts with my Self.

Science – our current state of the world is not the only way the world can be and the only way conscious experience can be structured. We can co-create the world we really want through Conscious choice.

Spirituality – Human development is  mysterious and often a messy affair. We have very rich traditions of psychological research and spiritual practice. It helps us make sense of various aspects of human growth and transformation. A Oneness approach helps us make sense of all of those traditions. It honors the mystery and the multidimensionality of our own unfolding. As a catalyst it leads to a freer and fuller expressions of who we are.

There IS hope!

We CAN do it!

We can find a way forward to a better future.
