Faith It Out Friday!
To my Mom!
Today I present you all, my readers just how you can get out of the land of Egypt and come into a land flowing with milk and honey.
To those of you who believe. To those of you who read, to those of you who are in need these words are for you. I say this because no matter what you have been through, you can overcome anything with the help and Grace of God. This is how I have begun to do that.
I left the land Egypt behind me. I am not going to sit here and tell you my readers that everyday with God is absolutely wonderful. “He didn’t say it would be easy but he said he would be with us.” Walking with God isn’t in all points not a popular decision based on the world’s perspective, theories or opinions.
“If God was similar to that of an ATM machine there would be longer lineups than there is at Walmart. He doesn’t work like that.”
If it just that easy love would be shed abroad in the hearts of many men and women worldwide. However the plan of God was transformed from a land of tranquility to tragedy because of the sin of Adam and Eve. Tonight’s focus is how I a Canadian born Christian is walking with Jesus all the way to Canaan. It should be understood that to journey with Jesus one must never run ahead or lag behind but it is important to walk in stride with God the Father, God The Son & God the Holy Spirit. It is important to walk in stride with God because that is where the strength comes.
The following are the steps I have taken to walk on with The Lord.
1.: I Came Out From Among Them.
2 Corinthians 6:17King James Version (KJV)
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
This was a hard lesson indeed to learn because there were times where I thought of myself as to weak to walk the road alone with Jesus. I always believe that there were strength in numbers. When I got in the Jesus boat I felt like I was on a mountain top. When those numbers fell by the wayside I got off the boat and walked head on into the Land of Sodom and Gomorrah. When those trials got too much for me handle. I went to Egypt many times without ever really knowing why. Tonight I can my tell my readers of more than 20,000 of you just how I left Egypt.
I thought the land was better for me in the land of Egypt. One of major reasons I didn’t want to leave Egypt was because I had and still have great love for my mother. She became my Benjamin. I was worried about what would happen to her if I left. So I continued to pray for her however the more she hung around the man I call Mussolini the more I would be discouraged among other things. For my safety my mother hid me away. Now I see her periodically. However I am still very cautious even about that because she is still not a fan of my faith, she is influenced by others in my family.
Genesis 43:2-11King James Version (KJV)
2 And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.
3 And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
4 If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:
5 But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
6 And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
7 And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
8 And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones.
9 I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:
10 For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.
11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this;
2. Get out from under that Juniper Tree.
While I was in the land of Egypt, I was under the Juniper Tree and due to the fact when tribulation came I wavered between faith and feelings. During some of the most trying times of my faith I would often be lead in my feelings and not my faith. This part must be openly admitted because when confessed God can have permission to take you or in my case to the Potter’s house to get all the dross out.
Philippians 3:13-14 King James Version
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I was delivered out the land of Egypt in February of this year and yes even God had to push me out to get me to move. Paperwork was filed in my name because the mousini of my family wanted to get me to stop going to church and they had a plan to do that by filing for paperwork not allowing me to do Bible study with my church.
The end result is I stood my ground and I refused to stop praying . In the end a court order was filed against me and it just happened to be the greatest blessing I could ever receive because I would no longer be hindered in my prayer life. “The Devil Can’t Win!”
1 Kings 19:1-4King James Version (KJV)
19 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
As a child of God, I have gained strength as well as an extra layer of skin to quench the fiery darts of the devil simply by praying more, reading more and yes even dining at the Lord’s great supper table. I am not a man of extraordinary skills and talent, but I have great resilience when trials come.
However with that being said that doesn’t mean I’m immune to hurt feelings and rivers of tears while I pray to God.
3. Tithe Your Finance By Faith
As a member of an American church, I stand firm in my belief that tithing %10 of your income is one way to untie God’s hands from moving in your life. There are many people in the Christian world and the non believing world that doesn’t get this concept. Some think that tithing is dropping a 20 in the collection plate that gets passed around. That is not good understanding of banking with Heaven’s bank. There are many in my family that don’t feel that I should give God ten percent because they all feel that I have to look after myself first which is funny because the bottom line is that one way I take care of myself is to first tithe first and foremost.
Leviticus 27:29-30King James Version (KJV)
29 None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.
30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord‘s: it is holy unto the Lord.
If the requires 10 percent so be it. I will give gleefully unto my master.
4. If the world has rejected you, Jesus can Accept you!
John 15:18-19King James Version (KJV)
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
