Project Bible 365 Day 72 The Road Less Traveled
Hi friends, This devotional is going to work out a bit different tonight as I am going to be touching on a few different subjects. However I encourage you to keep reading because it all relates to the events of the day. Before I go any further I would to dedicate this message to every member of my church. So whether your small or tall man or woman, boy or girl maybe perhaps you’re young or old. I dedicate this message to all of you with great Jesus love.

My name is Anthony and I am Canadian. I’m not your typical Canadian. I don’t like pancakes, I have never tapped a tree for sap and I don’t live in an igloo. Is everyone smiling yet? Good… Now onto the events of the day…. The reason I title this message the road less traveled has everything to do with my passport. As I said before I am not your typical Canadian. I even go to church in U.S.

This year the month of April has deeper meaning for me because I am going home for Easter. Meaning this coming Easter weekend I don’t have to watch the Pope live from Rome. I am going to be there LIVE IN PERSON in the U.S that is….

taxi1From approximately 9 a.m. and on today it seemed to this guy that there was one thing running through my mind. I laughed earlier and here I am just 12 hours later writing about my adventure of getting my passport. God has a good sense of humour and I received an education in travel and my taxi driver received an education in what it means to have divine determination.

This morning I went to go to the passport office to summit my papers so I could be in service in time for Easter weekend. However in my city they refused to take my passport papers because there wasn’t enough of a turn around time in addition my passport photo was not accepted because in the background was a door. So I was told by the passport office in my city that I would have to get new photos and go to the bigger city which allows me to get my passport in a quicker time.
alfalfaI’m not going to feed you jokes. That’s exactly what I did. I went to the photo shop store again and after 5 attempts with closed eyes I finally got a photo with my eyes open even though my hair was very similar to that of Alfalfa…
After I left the festival city to travel to the forest city I only spent about 30 minutes at the passport office. Here’s a tip, it helps to be prepared by having all your documents ready to be presented and stamped by the staff no matter how long the lines were. Yes there were 18 different passport clerks and yes there were hundreds of people in that tiny office. However this wasn’t an ordinary day. It was an extraordinary day and the reason why is because I used divine determination. What does it mean to have divine determination?

It means not accepting any of the junk of the devil. One of the ways I was able to trust God concerning these travel plans is because I have seen God move mountains for me before so why not again right? After all,

It means having faith. It means not getting discouraged when they tell you to redue your passport photos. So what if I have two sets of photos. So after I left the forest city, I traveled to nearest Harvey’s to get a buffalo wrap with fries and deep fried pickles and even though the food tastes good. They still don’t sponsor this blog.
Harveys So after I got my passport, I made a call and away I went again to get my plane ticket at the travel agency. As I was traveling with someone close to me in blood not in faith I was asked why would I go to the U.S. simply just to go to church? Again the sentence came to mind the road less traveled.travel After I got out of the travel agency , I felt like I had springs on my legs because I knew I had my physical passport and that’s because I used the faith and in that faith I used today it produced divine determination. patient-endurance
I do find it funny… The reason I find today funny is a final thought I have concerning this message. In the past three years since going to church in the U.S. I do know without a doubt there is no defeat in Jesus.

What I mean by that is as a Canadian traveling can be a burden to some.However for me it’s a joy.. Here is my travel timeline….
For the past three and half years. I traveled to the U.S. for church service by truck. I have traveled by bus, and now I am traveling by plane. I guess the only thing I really have to do now when the next travel dates arise is travel by train or sea. If that happens. I would have put new meaning on the phrase by planes, trains or automobiles. By Land, By Air, By Sea. Jesus is walking with me. So to answer people’s question concerning why I travel to the U.S. simply for Church I give this response…

Why Would I choose the road less traveled?
The road less traveled is for me because I have been set free.
The road less traveled is for me no matter the dollars because there is room at the altar.
The road less traveled is for me because Jesus loves and yes that’s what the Bible says.
The road less traveled is for me no matter what I have to pay because when I arrive in church it will be a beautiful day. The road less traveled is for me because there is no place I would rather be than on This Holy Plane.
