Lately, we all seem guilty of being too tethered to our devices. I have observed this on my daily walks; people so intently staring at their screens they forget to pay attention to their surroundings.
Sometimes we get so engrossed in the alternate reality that is social media that we forget to be present and just live life.
How many relationships have been broken? Loved ones ignored and opportunities for bonding missed all because we are a slave to those devices.
I will not dispute the usefulness of technology. However it is no substitute for belly laughs, hands held and kisses exchanged. In short, real human interaction.
On this Flashback Friday; let’s take a trip down memory lane and unplug. For five minutes, ten minutes, the entire weekend.
Spend some time rejuvenating yourself . Take a nature walk, watch a sunset, have a mani -pedi , savour a meal or hug a loved one. Take a deep breath, get some fresh air and plug into your spirit. Relax, simplify, destress. Be mindful and unplug.
