      There different types of meditation. Different ways work for different people. I am a Nichiren Buddhist. We don’t believe in silent meditation. Causes are made three different ways – thoughts, words and deeds. We chant – nam myoho renge kyo, which translates to – devotion to the mystic law of cause and effect through sound and vibration. While chanting, which is very rhythmic, in 6/8 time if you are familiar with music and that rhythm allows you to deeply focus on your life and whatever it is you would like to change in your life. I’ve been chanting for nearly 30 years and it has had a profound effect on my life. Unfortunately many people can’t do something good for themselves for 30 days let alone 30 years so they claim it doesn’t do any good for them and change to something else that sounds good. There is nothing that is absolutely perfect for all people so it does no good to say what I do is right and what you are doing is wrong, if you are sincerely doing your best to understand your life and feel it has been a positive choice for you. I do have friends that practice other faiths. If they are honest about it i can respect that. But when I hear some say – as an example – they are a Christian, yet they don’t even try to live their life based on the lessons they should have learned, then I don’t have any respect for them telling me they believe in God. We should be honest with ourselves yet I don’t often see that.

      Robert, your words about what the world needs are words that have been repeated since the 60’s and the age of the hippies. Do you think our situation on this earth has gotten better or worse. These are just words. Albeit nice words, but ineffective. The only people who can change it are the people with the money and what they want is war. They do not want peace. They want profit. They make the world turn to the beat of their drummers. Sad, but true.

    Maybe,but if you toss a pebble in a pond it has an effect.Now when I see the disregard for human life I get depressed,so I have to make an effort for peace without peace there’s no love without love there is no compassion without compassion there’s no humanity 😔 Those hippies were right.❤️loveNOThate✌🏽️PeaceNOTwar
