“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
Colossians 3:23 NLT
Since the Creation, God has given us work to do. If we could regard our work as an act of worship or service to God, such an attitude would take some of the drudgery and boredom out of it. We could work without complaining or resentment if we treated our job problems as the cost of discipleship. (Tyndale study Bible)
The day Adam and Eve sinned is we were cursed and condemned to earn our fruits from the sweat of our brow. Yes, as far back as that we were condemned to work for a living. So in short if we want to get ahead in life we have to work. What comes to mind is have you ever met a successful person; yes you have. They all work extremely hard and diligently. Think of those successful Churches in the world all their leaders and Pastors are extremely hard working.
Ya, I know you are saying I have heard this all before. You, hearing is one thing, doing is the important thing. So many of us know what to do but don’t just do it. This principle applies to all things in life, not only work.
I ask you how are you going to get ahead in life? Ponder on that question I don’t think you need me to answer it.
I have entered a new phase in my life; firstly I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior; secondly, I have embarked on a new career. Both these are completely different to how and what I was before. To be successful at either, it takes hard work and diligence. The spiritual reward will come from hours spent in God’s Word the Bible. Doing nothing will not get a result. Rome was not built in one day. What to do at work I think we all know that we should just do it.
“if we treated our job problems as the cost of discipleship.”
These words are a true revelation treat everything in life in this way. Success will follow.
“Lord I pray for diligence in everything I do. To glorify You. In Jesus name. Amen.”
