Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ NLT)

David taught Solomon as a young boy that seeking God’s wisdom was the most important choice he could make. Solomon learned the lesson well. When God appeared to Solomon to fulfil any request, Solomon chose wisdom above all else. We should also make God’s wisdom our first choice. We don’t have to wait for God to appear to us. We can boldly ask him for wisdom today through prayer. James 1:5 assures us that God will grant our request. (Tyndal Study Bible)

As I was pondering this verse, I wondered when the first formal school started. So what do I do? Yes, googled.

Proverbs was written by Solomon about 900 BC. It was at that time the first formal schools were established. Formal writing dates back to about 3000 BC; it consisted of figures rather than writing.

Back in those days the wisdom’s of the world was relayed verbally by the elders. Today that still happens. We do however have the privilege of technology and school. Think of the time it took David to teach Solomon. And then the time it took them to teach others. My thoughts are teaching was for the select few. How different today. Google? We all have access and opportunity to learn wisdom. Everything happens a thousand times faster. I walked into my Son’s room the other day, and he was watching a Youtube video explaining a finance calculation, he is in 3rd-year of B.com degree. Is that not amazing?

In conjunction with that, we have to think of ourselves. We have to be faster, smarter and quicker than the next person. This goes for everything in life. Even in Church people want faster results. We live in an instant and a ready world. Email, website Twitter and Facebook all the information and knowledge at our fingertips. That does not mean that we can’t do all these things without compassion and love.

The positive to me is we can reach our objectives quicker. Influence people faster. Wow, think of that? What have you done, to influence and change people in your world? I am so motivated in everything I do. We can’t be as slow as before. Things at work are quicker; people have greater expectations, that’s the way of the world today.

“Lord I pray for your peace and wisdom. Give me the opportunity to maintain the pace. I thank you for the Blessings. In Jesus name. Amen.”
