Expand your horizons in travel, food, and leisure.
Last year I came upon a very good deal for a Skillshare membership that allowed me six months of learning. I made the most of it!
The problem with Skillshare is that there are so many classes and at first glance, they all look super interesting and it is extremely easy to simply binge-watch class after class without actually practicing or doing the projects. So I will talk about the classes I did and for which I completed the assignments.
I’ve always wanted to learn is bookbinding and of course, I love to learn about techniques to improve my creativity, so without further ado here are my favorite Skillshare classes:
Join Chanel & Stevo from the popular blog How Far From Home for an inspiring 28-minute class on how to travel the world on a budget!
Learn frameworks for budget planning, tips for accommodations and transport, and ways to get inspired for your next trip — plus all of Chanel & Stevo’s favorite apps and resources.
Whether you’re embarking on long-term travel or want a weekend getaway, get everything you need to take off.
Learn what it takes to brew an amazing cup of coffee by hand! Go behind-the-scenes with celebrated California roaster Blue Bottle for a one-hour class on sourcing, brewing, and tasting everyone’s favorite bean. From the plant to your cup, Michael Phillips brings every lesson to life while also offering options — giving you a process for making a simple cup or going the distance with pro equipment.
In this online course hosted by renowned author and food blogger Sarah Graham, we’ll share with you the foundational knowledge and know-how you’ll need to master key baking subjects such as cake, home-made-bread and pastries – all in just 6 lessons.
Join Norwegian photographer Marte Marie Forsberg for a short introduction class on telling a visual story, and planning a small shoot.
You’ll travel with Marte Marie to her English countryside cottage, pick up a few items at the market, and make your way to a friend’s garden allotment to photograph the story of a rustic, everyday feast.
It’s a welcome reminder of small moments that are truly perfect.
Join photographer Lindsay Crandall as she shows you how she approaches creative self-portraits and beautiful, ordinary moments. In this twenty minute class, you will learn how to create a story through your photography, the importance of light and shadows, and how to shoot self-portraits with your smartphone. With inspiration and insight, Lindsay gives you a peek into how she works and why she believes we should all be capturing the beauty that lies within each of us.
Join celebrated Instagram photographer Tyson Wheatley to learn the ins and outs of smartphone photography so that you can authentically build your photos, followers, and brand on Instagram!
